Meet Our Leaders
When education pioneer Elizabeth Harrison founded the school that would become NLU in 1886, she put service, community and social justice first. Those principles continue to be the focus of President Nivine Megahed, Ph.D., the 11th president of NLU, and her team. Our leaders are passionate advocates for adult higher education and firm believers in its equalizing and uplifting effect on families and communities. Their role is to “serve those who serve others” by fostering a learning environment conducive to the highest degree of student success.
President Nivine Megahed, Ph.D.
President Megahed has been with NLU since 2010 and has dedicated her career to making higher education more accessible for students of all backgrounds. A clinical psychologist by training, President Megahed is a champion for affordable, accessible, high-quality education.
