The catalog term is the academic term which indicates the catalog requirements and policies you will follow to complete your degree and is based on when you were admitted to your degree program.

For instance, if your catalog term were fall of 2021, you would follow all policies and degree requirements published in the 2021-2022 University Course Catalog.

View the top portion of your degree evaluation to see your catalog term.

Students who wish to change their program of study must complete the Change of Program form in consultation with their Academic Advisor or Success Coach and complete degree requirements in effect at the time of admission to the new program.

Students may have to meet new requirements if a program revision goes into effect as a result of changes to licensure and endorsements at the state level or programmatic and specialized approvals by accrediting bodies or other agencies.

You are encouraged to review your degree evaluation multiple times per academic term:

  • After final grades have posted
  • In preparation for your quarterly check-in with your Academic Advisor or Coach
  • After any course registration or schedule change

Your degree evaluation is a degree auditing and planning tool and is not the same as your transcript.

View your unofficial transcript in the NLU Portal using this path: Student Services > Students > Academic Transcript.

Request official paper or e-transcripts online through the Registrar’s Office.

Course availability can be viewed on-demand by way of the online searchable class schedule in the NLU Portal using this path: Student Services > Students > NLU Public Schedule.

You can also contact your Academic Advisor or Coach. You are also encouraged to refer to any degree planning materials that you received from your Academic Advisor or Coach and verify that course availability has not changed.

Contact your Academic Advisor or Coach with any questions about your degree completion date. Graduation dates vary by student based on how many credits they complete each term, the availability of courses, or withdrawing from or not earning the minimum grade required for a course.

Your degree evaluation is considered confidential and only available to you, your Academic Advisor or Coach, and authorized faculty and staff. Should you want to allow anyone else, such as a guardian or employer, to have access to your academic record, you must provide NLU with a signed Waiver of Right to Access form for each individual that you would like to provide access to your record.

Contact your Academic Advisor or Success Coach to discuss any concerns or questions about your degree evaluation or degree requirements. Your Advisor or Coach will be able to review your evaluation and walk you through any necessary steps to fix your degree evaluation.
