NLU Receives National Recognition for Continuing Achievements in Student Success

Distinguished “Collaborative Citizenship Award” highlights schools with outstanding track records in student success who generously share their best practices with peer institutions

National Louis University has been selected for the 2020 “Collaborative Citizenship Award” by EAB Technology in recognition of NLU’s robust, proven record of data-informed approaches to ensuring student success.

“We are absolutely honored to have received this distinction, especially after such a tough year,” said Aarti Dhupelia, Vice President of Undergraduate Education and Dean of the Undergraduate College at National Louis. “This year our faculty and staff have gone above and beyond to not only lift up our students, but also to share our experiences and sense of what works best with our peer institutions. It’s been a learning process this year, but this feels like a real validation of all the hard work we’ve put in to make sure our students continue to excel.”

“In particular, we have to thank Tracy Templin, Courtney Bondi, and Urvi Thanki for really driving this effort and coordinating with faculty and staff to lead the EAB work for our University,” Dhupelia added.

EAB’s Collaborative Citizenship Award recognizes an institution that selflessly shares their practices and approaches to student success and strives to help their peers succeed. It highlights one of only five schools nationally recognized for demonstrating an exceptional ability to elevate the student experience and create a more cohesive, collaborative higher education environment.

“The COVID-19 pandemic forced institutions to rely on technology like never before to support students on their educational journey,” said Scott Schirmeier, president of EAB Technology. “This year’s awardees, like their predecessors, are true leaders in using technology to help advisors, faculty, administrators, and students work collaboratively to keep more students on track to graduate. The winners exemplify what schools can achieve with a campus-wide approach to student success, strong leadership, and an unrelenting commitment to helping more students reach their potential.”

This year’s EAB awards were presented at CONNECTED20, a three-day gathering, virtual this year, of leaders from the country’s most progressive community colleges as well as four-year colleges and universities.
