Celebrating the Women of Kendall College’s TASTE Talks Series

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we would like to spotlight some of the incredible women contributors to our Taste Talks series. We are grateful for the dedication of our talented women presenters that continue to share their knowledge and expertise in their field with us every month. Today, meet wine connoisseur Mary Ross – Kendall College Adjunct Instructor and the presenter for our regular series, Taste Talks: Wine Wednesdays!

Mary Ross is an internationally recognized authority on wine and food.  She is the first woman to receive The Wine Spectator's “Grand Award of Excellence” as Cellarmaster of Chicago’s 95th Restaurant and the second American woman to earn the Court of Master Sommeliers’ “Advanced Sommelier” degree.  She has also earned the Society of Wine Educators’ “Certified Wine Educator” recognition.

Ross is wine columnist for The Daily Herald and contributor to local and international publications such as the Chicago Tribune and Decanter.  Her informed and entertaining approach to wine and food makes her a popular speaker, while educating chefs-of-tomorrow at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and Kendall College of Culinary Arts, with clients including the Commercial Office of Spain, Napa Valley Vintners Association, Prosecco DOC, Clicquot USA and The Chopping Block and during appearances including The New York Wine Experience, Yosemite National Park’s Vintners’ Holiday, aboard Crystal Cruises, on WGN Radio and Today.

To learn more about Mary Ross and to discover more about the world of wine, you can subscribe to Kendall College at NLU’s TASTE Talks on YouTube to watch all of our recorded Wine Wednesdays.

We also invite you to join us for our upcoming TASTE Talks! Please email taste@nl.edu for more information on the free TASTE Talk Series.
