NLU Wins National Recognition for Excellence in Undergraduate Education

Washington Monthly recently released their 2022 College Guide and Rankings, which evaluate universities according to different criteria from the assessments of outlets like U.S. News and World Report. Washington Monthly’s evaluations rank universities not on the basis of their wealth, prestige, or fame, but of their commitment to public service, and to education as a vehicle for social and economic mobility. In other words, these rankings focus on the concrete positive results that colleges achieve for their students and the country.

By these criteria, Washington Monthly ranked National Louis University at #18 in the entire country, notably ahead of schools like Johns Hopkins, Columbia University New York, and Northwestern University. They also ranked NLU at #4 on this chart for best social mobility outcomes for its students. NLU is winning national recognition for our unwavering commitment to college inclusion and equity, to the broader ideal that a university education should be available to all, regardless of one’s background, and that it should serve a higher purpose of empowering students to achieve positive outcomes for themselves, their families, and communities.  

What’s more, NLU was also ranked at #2 Best Bang for the Buck in the Midwest, reflecting our dedication to keeping college affordable, accessible, and employment focused.
