Dolores Mannella currently serves the Society of Women Engineers as Manager of Events. Since graduating in 2018, she has executed over 85 events in 11 countries around the world.

Dolores oversees end-to-end planning of their U.S. and Global WE Local Conferences, governance meetings, and partnership meetings held throughout the year. She also oversees a large portion of the annual convention which draws over 20,000 attendees. Notably, the upcoming Society of Women Engineers WE24 annual conference will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago on October 24-26, 2024!

Dolores attributes her success to the education she received at Kendall College and the valuable experience she acquired in event planning during her time there. Additionally, the connections Dolores built during school have extended well beyond the classroom.

These relationships not only enhanced her academic experience but continue to encourage Dolores to contribute to her personal and professional development.

She recently returned to campus to speak to an introductory Hospitality class. She discussed her career and the field of event planning. On the final exam for the course, numerous students indicated that—out of 8 class speakers—Dee had the most impact on them. Here are the actual answers from students who mentioned Dee:

“Ms. Dolores Mannella… she shared great heart for the hospitality industry and was proof of what you can do when you leave Kendall”

“I enjoyed the lady from the Society of Women Engineers.  She explained what she did really well and how she works on huge events. What I liked is she is traveling around the world at a young age.  She impacted me because I can see myself doing that and she showed it was possible for me. “

“Dee had the most impact because she was once in the spot we are in…”

“Dolores really impacted me as well as she works in a not for profit to influence more girls in the engineering and STEM world.  By implementing what she learned at Kendall College, she successfully leads events.”

“Dee from SWE.  It was great to be able to get a real world perspective on what she does.  She was a very compelling speaker and you could tell she’s very passionate and great at what she does.”

“Dolores.  I felt she had the most interesting talk.”

“Dolores. I think that what she does is a mix of passion, hard work and giving back….”
