Education Leadership Summit Keynote Panel

NCE’s Education Leadership Summit: Re-Visioning Education: Lessons Learned in Leading for Equity brought education leaders from across the country together to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned in leading for equity through the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. The three-part event included a keynote panel discussion and breakout group discussions.

Panelists:

Landon Brown, Ed.D. is the Director of School Quality for National Heritage Academies' Louisiana schools.   He was the founding principal of Lindley 6th Grade Academy in Cobb County School District (GA) and a former turnaround principal of two urban schools in Ohio. He has currently worked to address equity issues with parent engagement in urban school settings. 

Annise Lewis, Ed.D. currently serves as a Director of School Leadership with the Academy for Urban School Leadership. She previously taught and served as an Assistant Principal in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) as well as an Assistant Principal and Principal in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) during which time her school moved up to a level 1+ status. An NLU doctoral program alumna, Dr. Lewis has been recognized in network publications for her development of highly effective teachers and leaders that transform educational outcomes for students of color. 

CJ Rodgers, Ed.D., an NLU doctoral program alumnus, currently serves as the assistant superintendent for Education and Enrichment at Harris County Department of Education in Houston, Texas. Prior to this, Dr. Rodgers was a High School English and AVID Teacher/Coordinator, a High School Assistant Principal, a High School Interim Principal and a PreK-8th Elementary School Principal - all in Chicago Public Schools. Dr. Rodgers most recently served as the Director of Client Engagement and Deputy Chief of Schools and Network Affairs for the Academy for Urban School Leadership in Chicago.
