About the M.Ed. or Ed.S. in Learning Sciences Education

NLU's M.Ed. or Ed.S. in Learning Sciences Education is for educators and other professionals who want to explore how learning happens and create engaging and empowering learning environments.

Linking theory, research, and best practice, you will examine the cultural and social-emotional dynamics of learning environments and explore the structures and processes involved in acquiring knowledge. 

Learning Sciences is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on understanding the contexts and instructional strategies that enhance learning, drawing from educational psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, linguistics, neuroscience, and data analytics.

If you are an educator, you'll graduate with an advanced degree as well as an endorsement in a high-needs, in-demand area. If you are a professional Pursuing the personalized concentration, you'll graduate with an advanced degree and enhanced competencies. Educators choose one concentration from the following:

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND CURRICULUM

The M.Ed. in Learning Sciences Education requires 32-37 SH for completion depending on the endorsment or tracks you choose.

The Ed.S. in Learning Sciences Education is for candidate's currently holding a master's degree. It requires 30-37 SH for completion.
