About the Master of Education in Early Childhood Administration
Early childhood administrators and leaders serve a critical role in determining quality care and learning experiences for children and families. They support, lead, and inspire other early childhood professionals to create programs that enhance early development and learning, improving outcomes for children. Are you ready to hone your leadership skills to improve the quality of early childhood care and education for young children?
Our M.Ed. in Early Childhood Administration is for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in any area and aspire to lead early childhood programs in various settings, including public schools, community-based sites, and family child care homes. During the program, you’ll learn how to build and support teacher teams, advance your professional competency in the financial and legal aspects of childcare administration, and gain a thorough understanding of the impact families, communities, and schools have on one another. Upon graduation, you will possess the knowledge, skills, and mindset to lead and improve early childhood programs and organizations.
Normally completed in 21 months, the 34 SH program is fully online. Courses are taught by Ph.D. level full-time faculty and expert practitioners adjuncts with extensive field experience. The standards-based, inquiry-focused Early Childhood Administration M.Ed. coursework contains the required administrative content area credits that will allow you to work toward a Level III Illinois Director Credential.*
