About the M.Ed. or Ed.S. Curriculum and Instruction with Advanced Professional Specializations
Are you a teacher seeking to expand your knowledge in a specialized area to augment your influence in the classroom and beyond?
The National Louis University Curriculum and Instruction with Advanced Professional Specializations program is designed for career-oriented educators seeking to amplify the power and versatility of their credentials by adding concentrations in areas of content expertise.
Educators who already hold a master’s degree will select the Ed.S. program. Those looking for advanced proficiency in their field may choose an Ed.S. only, or continue on to earn a doctorate, where some of the courses may count towards their degrees.
Adding endorsements in areas of content expertise enables teachers to expand their job qualifications directly and efficiently through online courses leading to endorsements in high-demand specializations.
M.Ed. and Ed.S. students can choose two of the following concentration areas:
- Curriculum and Instruction (non-endorsement concentration)
- Technology Specialist
- English as a Second Language
- ESL/Bilingual Education
- Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I)
- Learning Behavior Specialist II (LBS II): Curriculum Adaptation Specialist
- Learning Behavior Specialist II (LBS II): Transition Specialist
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Mathematics Education
- Reading Teacher
- Teacher Leader
- Early Childhood Education (subsequent endorsement)
- Elementary Education (subsequent endorsement)
- Personalized Option (non-endorsement concentration)
The program empowers teachers to make decisions and choices about specific program content in order to influence their classroom and beyond. Graduates of our program often become grade-level chairs, department chairs, curricular directors, team leaders, curriculum writers for their districts, mentor teachers, adjunct professors for undergraduate students, student teacher supervisors, and develop curriculum for non-profits.
