New Teacher Induction Program: Navigating the first years in the classroom

The National College of Education is excited to announce the launch of its new Teacher induction Program! This is to assist teachers who are beginning their journey in the teaching profession. The program has been created as a space where new teachers can ask questions, share stories, and have a safe, stress-free environment to talk with one another about their challenges and successes while launching their career.

Who is the program for? All Teacher Preparation graduates (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, Secondary Education Special Education) in their first or second year of teaching.

Why is this needed? Navigating the first years of teaching can be hard. Let’s stay together and continue learning and growing!

What will program leaders do? During the time spent together, the group will utilize an online tool called Inspire Teaching and Learning, a professional development series of modules based on themes and topics especially helpful to teachers navigating their first years of teaching.

How much is the program? There is no cost to Teacher Preparation graduates. All participants will receive 30 Continuing Professional Development Credits (CPDUs) to use toward their continuing professional education requirements.

How do I sign up for the Induction Program? Email Sherri Bressman at SBressman@nl.edu

When does this program meet? The New Teacher Induction Program for 2023-2024 will meet via Zoom from 5:30 – 6:30 PM CST on the last Wednesday of each month, August 2023 through May 2024.

NCE is looking forward to supporting and celebrating the success of those who join this group and those who are beginning their teaching career!
