Graduate Checklist

Below are the items and dates that must be completed in order for you to have a successful commencement experience. Please fill out the checklist in Banner to make sure that you are eligible for graduation and meet the requirements at this link. Should you need to RSVP for commencement or let us know you will not be attending, please use this link.

One term prior to completion of classes

1. Meet with your coach / academic advisor
   • Speak with your advisor to ensure you've completed all degree requirements.
2. Meet with Career Bridge
   • Get help with your resume, cover letter, interviewing skills and job search strategies.
3. Find career fairs and jobs on Handshake

Last term of classes

Please check off the items as you complete them. This will ensure that you have the best commencement experience.

1. Apply for graduation
   • Summer '23 application deadline - September 15th, 2023
   • Fall '23 application deadline - December 15th, 2023
   • Winter '24 application deadline - February 15th, 2024
   • Spring '24 application deadline - April 15th, 2024
   • Summer '24 application deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony - April 15th, 2024
2. You have opted-in to participate in the 2023 Commencement Ceremony taking place on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. If you have not opted-in, please resubmit your application for graduation. The deadline to participate in the 2024 ceremony is April 15th, 2024.
3. Order Your Regalia
   • Cap & Gown
     • Deadline: May 1st, 2024
   • Associate Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Alumni Jackets
     • Deadline: May 1st, 2024
4. Complete Federal Student Loan Exit Survey
5. Update your contact information with the NLU Alumni Association
6. RSVP To Commencement Events
   • Commencement Fair on June 1st, 2024 in Maggie Daley Park
     • Deadline: May 1st, 2024

7. Marching Orders - Marching Orders is a service that professionally records your name and degree in high-quality audio with accurate pronunciation for use during the commencement ceremony. You will begin receiving emails about Marching Orders after April 15th. The deadline to complete your Marching Orders profile will be May 15th
