Faculty Hiring and Credentialing
Information for New Faculty
Faculty Credentialing
Faculty Credentialing refers to the alignment of your academic and work experience to the course-based academic and work preparation requirements. NLU program faculty determine credentialing standards based on the subject-matter, as well as applicable accreditation guidelines. Your initial set of “approved courses” is completed at the time of hire and can be accessed on your NLU portal page.
To request an update to the courses you are credentialed to teach, click the button below to access the Online Faculty Credentialing System.
For guidance on using the credentialing system, please review the Submit and Approve Credentialing Requests info sheet.

Professional Engagement
Staff Council
The mission of the Staff Council is to represent and promote the interests of the staff and serve as an active advisory group to the University administration in areas that pertain to the welfare of the staff and matters that may benefit the University as a whole.
The Senate is the board of the Faculty Association, principal agent of faculty governance at National Louis University.
The Adjunct Council represents the professional interests of the adjunct faculty at National Louis University through active participation in shared governance and advises the Provost and President on matters that concern adjuncts at NLU.
University Leadership Council
The purpose of shared governance, through the University Leadership Council, is to enable those who are affected by decisions to work together to build consensus around important issues facing the institution. Broad participation by these representatives chosen by their respective groups increases the level of employee investment in the decisions leading to greater institutional success.
Month of Service
Each year the month of May is dedicated to community service, in which employees are encouraged to participate in a half day of community service. Employees, Staff and Faculty, come together at our Spring Connection to celebrate our service.
