Finalizing Grades

First, and importantly, be sure to post final grades within 10 calendar days from the last day of the class. You will begin to receive automated emails starting on the day a class ends, reminding you of any outstanding final grades that need to be entered.

A few other items to note:

  • If you are entering a “F” grade for a student, you must also enter in the student’s Last Date of Attendance (LDA).
  • For any courses that are eligible for continuation (dissertation, internship, etc.), you should enter in a “X” grade for each student.
  • In some cases, an In-progress Grade or "I-Grade" may be provided to give students that time to wrap-up work for the term.

Instructions to submit final grades

1) Go to http://my.nl.edu and login.

2) Select the My Services tab in the expandable menu on the left side of the screen. 

3) On this page, select the Faculty and Advising tab at the top of the page.

4) Then, scroll down to the Faculty section, select Faculty Grade Entry.

5) Select the course for which you want to submit grades.

6) Please make sure the Final Grades tab is selected. You may also search for a course.

7) When you are done, please click on the Submit Grades button.

Sometimes, students need a bit of extra time to complete coursework. In some cases, an In-progress Grade or "I-Grade" may be provided to give students that time to wrap-up work for the term. Please see the In-progress Grade Policy to determine if this may be appropriate for a student on your roster.

Accidents happen! So if you make a mistake on a grade entry – no problem, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to the NLU portal: https://my.nl.edu/
  2. Click the menu item on the right-hand navigation bar for “Faculty Staff”
  3. Scroll down to the “Employee Services” section and click on “Grade Change” to complete for form.
