Jennifer Engelland-Schultz is an Assistant Professor in School Psychology at National Louis University (NLU). She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Illinois State University and her M.A. in Teaching and B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Olivet Nazarene University. Jennifer previously worked as a school psychologist serving students and families in public schools across several regions of Illinois. She is passionate about providing effective social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health services to students and families within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), advocating for racial and social justice, promoting equity in the schools, and creating family-school-community partnerships. Jennifer’s current research and presentations are focused on equitable assessment and grading practices as well as promoting wellness. Jennifer’s prior research has addressed the impact of positive school climate and the effectiveness of social-emotional learning programs. Jennifer is committed to creating safe, supportive, and culturally responsive learning environments that meet the needs of all students and families.
