NLU Library Resources for Faculty

The NLU Library supports faculty teaching and research by participating in the course development and revision process, leading class presentations on library resources and research skills, and by hosting e-reserves for course readings not available through the NLU Library. Click on the services listed below for more information.

The University Library is requesting submissions of books and chapters authored by NLU faculty and staff. Upon receipt of these submissions, the University Library will purchase a print or ebook copy (if available) to be added to our collection permanently. Please complete the NLU Authors Form to be included in the collection.

Visit the NLU Faculty Resources guide for detailed information about resources, services, and collections available from the University Library.

Contact the NLU Library with questions: library@nl.edu

Librarians can meet with your class to discuss topic development, finding and evaluating information sources, using library resources, search tips and tricks, APA style, and much more. We cannot guarantee in-person availability for on-campus classes. To ensure the greatest availability, please contact us at least a week in advance.

Complete the Librarian Classroom Visit Request form to schedule.

The NLU Library can host required readings as e-reserves for a course that are not available electronically from an NLU Library database. Copyright permission must be approved and paid by the college every academic year the reading is used. Copyright permission cost is based on the amount of the work being used and the number of students enrolled in the course that will be accessing the reading.

Complete the E-Reserves Request form to provide a list of the readings that need to be hosted as an e-reserve.

NLU librarians are research specialists who can assist faculty with literature reviews, known article searching, open access publishing, copyright questions, and more. NLU Librarians can help find resources for the courses you teach, as well as resources to support your research agenda.

Complete the NLU Library Research Appointment form to request an appointment with an NLU librarian.

The NLU Library welcomes recommendations of materials to purchase to enhance our academic, popular, and children's collections.

Complete the NLU Library Material Recommendation form to recommend a book, ebook, ejournal, or database to add to the library collection.
