Biography:

My experience is in newspapers, and most of my 38 years in the business was with the Chicago Tribune. As an editor, my tasks ranged from local news to features to sports and more. My longest-tenured job at the paper was movies editor, a post I held for 11 years. Since retiring from the Tribune, I’ve begun teaching at National Louis University and taken on freelance editing assignments. I also babysit for my two granddaughters.

BSJ, MSJ from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism

Research and Interests:

I see teaching at NLU as a way to use my editing experience help students sharpen their writing skills, and also as a way to advocate for journalism as a profession.
