Biography: 

Married, two adult children, grandmother :-). Began work in education with the forerunner of Teacher Corps in 1969 and situated in the Pilsen Community in Chicago. Remained there for twelve years after graduation until recruited to be come the first full time educator for instructional technology at the opening of the Maria Saucedo Math and Computer Magnet School in Little Village, Chicago. The recruited to work with at risk vocational students in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) high schools. Worked at the Central Office in Department of Vocational and Technical Services of CPS for five years before leaving that position to work in the Garfield Ridge community of Chicago in the area of instructional technology. Golden Apple Finalist, Kohl Foundation finalist in early childhood education, DRIVE Award finalist, and thirteen year participant in the TECH 2000 exhibit in Springfield Capitol. Began as an adjunct for National Louis University in 2004, retired from CPS in 2006 and began full time faculty work at NLU in February of 2007. Currently serve on the NLU Governance Committee, chair the NCE Constitution Committee and serve as a member of the NCE Assessment Committee. Also served on the Adjunct Life Cycle subcommittee on evaluation of adjuncts.

Education: 

Doctoral candidate at National Louis University (need to complete dissertation) Extensive coursework in technology integration, school business management, and curriculum design and implementation EdM from University of Illinois Champaign Urbana BA from University of Illinois at Chicago with focus on Urban Education Spend more than 35 years teaching in Chicago Public Schools (a real source of education) - literacy and instructional technology
