National Louis University Partners with mRelief

mRelief provides easy access to SNAP benefits for students through text messaging, on the web, and voice.

What could you do with an additional $150 a month especially during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Did you know that during this pandemic, accessing SNAP benefits has been expanded to more people?

National Louis University is excited to announce its partnership with mRelief to help more students and families who may need food resources! mRelief is a Chicago-based nonprofit that helps connect students to food resources such as SNAP benefits (also known as food stamps) through their easy to use platform on text, web, and voice. mRelief has connected more than 500,000 families to social services and is focused on helping more students receive SNAP benefits.

Students can find out more information about mRelief and/or find out if they are eligible to receive SNAP benefits by visiting nl.edu/mrelief or locating mRelief on your portal and NLU website.

By following any of the above options, students will be prompted to an eligibility screener and  SNAP application where it can take as little as 10 minutes to complete and submit your application to the local SNAP (food stamps) office. You can submit pay stubs, transcripts, identification and any additional documents needed securely through text message. If there are any difficulties along the way with submissions, someone from mRelief will jump in to provide assistance each step of the way through text message or whatever method of communication works best for you.

We hope this resource and partnerships is a useful tool in addressing the holistic needs of our students. If you are in need of food resources, please do not hesitate to initiate a text and bring yourself one step closer to accessing your benefits.
