Student Organizations

Here at National Louis University, we have a variety of organizations to appeal to nearly every interest.  NLU has many student led organizations within the areas of culture, sports and recreation, academic, social, service, performance, spiritual/religious, and Greek life.  NLU’s Student organizations provide opportunities for students to grow as leaders, engage in professional development, explore a variety of cultural experiences and pursue a variety of non-academic interests.

Six reasons why YOU should join a student organization:

  1. It allows students to become connected to their school: Colleges are full of resources, but the responsibility is on the student to seek them out. Being involved helps you do that!
  2. It helps you build community: Getting involved helps you discover new friends with similar interests.
  3. It allows you to discover unique passions and strengths: These will follow you all through life.
  4. It's a résumé builder: Freshman year is not too soon to begin thinking about positioning yourself for future employment.
  5. Involved students are more likely to graduate.
  6. As a result of your involvement, you will gain knowledge, skills and experience in leadership, communication, problem-solving, group development and management, budgeting and finance, presentation and public speaking, and much more!

It is easy to join any student organization at National Louis University!  Please follow these quick steps to join any organization.

  1. Use google chrome to go to EagleLife
  2. Use your NLU log in to sign into Eagle LIfe
  3. Click on "Organizations" on the toolbar at the top of the page
  4. All of the Organizations are in alphabetical order
  5. Select the student organization you are interested in joining
  6. Click the JOIN button
  7. Tip! Send an email to the contact person after joining to find out more about meeting dates, upcoming events and how to get more involved.

If you are forming a new organization organization, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Find a group of interested students and an advisor.  Each student organization must have at least four (4) currently registered members as well as a full-time faculty or staff member who agrees to serve as the organization advisor and attend all meetings and events.
  2. Write a constitution.  The sample constitution outline contains items that must appear in each student organization constitution.  You may wish to include additional points that provide more explicit ideas for the vision of your group.
  3. Complete the Student Organization Registration Application. The Registration Application and Constitution can be submitted on Eagle Life under forms
  4. Attend quarterly Leadership workshops.
  5. Attend registration orientation in the Spring quarter.

All Student organization forms can be found on Eagle Life under forms
