VETS Transfer Partnership

The VETS Transfer Partnership is a unique program between Veterans Centers on campuses across the city, offering student veterans, and military affiliated students, a seamless pathway toward earning quality, accessible and affordable associate's and bachelor’s degrees.

National Louis University (NLU) and the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) have entered into a milestone partnership that will lift up student veterans, and military affiliated students, in their pursuit of higher education. The program is designed to facilitate the ability of CCC student veterans, and military affiliated students, to matriculate to NLU and complete their college education by providing closely-tailored career and academic counseling to prepare them for the transition while completing their coursework at CCC community colleges.

Additionally, financial support will be available specifically to help transition and then complete the degree following arrival at NLU. The overall process is designed to make the journey from community college to a bachelor’s degree as smooth and supported as possible.

The VETS Transfer Partnership launched in April 2021 is beginning as a pilot at both Kennedy King and Harold Washington Colleges with the goal to expand to all seven City Colleges in the future. For more information on the VETS Program email veteransprogram@nl.edu or call (312) 261-3262.

Academic Advising
The Academic Advising Office will provide one-on-one counseling covering your academic concerns: degree program requirements, credit transfer and course equivalencies, degree overviews and expectations, and degree planning to graduation.

Career Bridge
The Career Bridge at NLU supports students in the Veteran and Military Program with a wide variety of services, guides, and tools, which include the following:

• One-on-one career advising services developing job search documents, exploring career paths, applying for jobs and internships, and more.
• Access to Handshake, our platform connecting employer partners with NLU student searching for jobs and internships.
• NLU Career Bridge Events, such as job fairs, networking events, workshops, webinars, and more.
• Our digital career tools, including Candid Career, Focus 2 Career, Interview stream, and Parker Dewey.
• Comprehensive guides to writing resumes and cover letters,
