Biography:

Dr. Martin Wesley is a professor for the Florida Department of Counseling with National Louis University.  He has served as a licensed professional for over 20 years in Arizona, Kentucky and Florida. Clinically, she specializes in marriage and family issues and the treatment of addiction. Dr. Wesley has been teaching for over 20 years and is a leader in Counselor Education and Supervision where he has shaped the profession through online and hybrid/blended education. He has been a leader in counseling regulation and has served for eight years as a member and chair for four years of the State of Kentucky’s Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.  He serves as a CACREP accreditation liaison and site team visitor. He is a Kentucky Colonel and has been honored with various awards and recognitions including the Kearney Campbell Memorial Award and the Counselor Educator of the Year from the Kentucky Counseling Association. Dr. Wesley’s research interests relate to addiction, animal-assisted therapy, spirituality and mental health, distance learning and the study of helpers and their families. He has presented at regional, national, and international conferences and has been published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters in Academic texts. He is currently writing a text on Distance Education and another book related to spirituality and mental health.  He lives with his wife of over 35 years and loves spending time with his children and grandchildren.
