Biography:

Janet Lorch began as an adjunct professor at NLU in 2003 and joined NLU as a faculty member in 2005. In 2020, she was awarded Emeritus status. She worked primarily with NCE Teacher Residency programs and continues to consult with the School of Teacher Preparation in the area of equity. Prior to joining NLU, she taught in Chicago and Evanston Public Schools as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, artist in residence and curriculum trainer. Outside of NLU she is a trained Circle Facilitator and works with Begin in Circle based in Oak Park, IL. She’s a strong believer in the power of building relationships and co-creating learning spaces with her students and colleagues.
