Tara Bryant-Edwards

Biography

Tara Bryant-Edwards is an Assistant Professor at National Louis University and she has a private practice, Aya Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from Governors State University, a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, and a Master of Business Administration in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University. Over the duration of her career, she has been a provider of mental health services for survivors of family, community, and systemic/structural violence and she has provided clinical and administrative oversight of those services. 

As an Assistant Professor, she teaches graduate-level counseling courses that focus on multicultural, family, and group dynamics. She has presented at national and state conferences on topics pertaining to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and cultural competence in counseling.

Areas of Expertise

Social media and resilience, clinical mental health program administration and leadership, and cultural competence in counseling.
